Mailfriends Community Ethos
Mailfriends is a community for people who want new real world experiences with real people who have different cultures, attitudes, ages, beliefs and views. We value diversity in age, colour, race, belief and views and believe this is of paramount importance to real mailfriends.
We accept that the real world is a challenging place and that we do not all share the same passions and beliefs, but we do not judge people just because they are different, one of the key purposes of coming together as a community is to learn and understand what our differences are so that we can develop more as individuals.
It is a place where open minded people challenge rather than just accept, not through hatred or disdain but through intellectual curiosity.
We believe that real friends challenge us to help us develop and that this quickly turns to supporting other mailfriends when they have a problem. We use our own
experiences to help people no matter where they are or what their situations may be. We respect people, their lives and their right to have a life that is free from intolerance, persecution, abuse and hatred.
We welcome open discussions on important topics and do not shy away from dealing with hard issues, we do not bow down to political correctness but we do not tolerate hatred, racism, sexism, harassment, obscenity, threatening behaviour and we respect each others right to privacy at all times.
Likewise, we do not shy away from talking about the obscure, fun, ridiculous, frivolous and sometimes downright stupid things that we all see and experience around us. We enjoy sharing our lives and experiences through our interactions with other members of the community even if these interactions sometimes make us feel uncomfortable.
Mailfriends is above all a community where people enjoy and experience the real world through conversations with people from every corner of the world.
