hm, pa u hrvatskoj ih bas nema, mozda sam ih vidjela tek nekoliko u zagrebu. za tak nesto definitivno moras otic van. npr, u londonu sam ih vidjela koliko hoces, hrpa cetvrti u kojima je puno vise crnaca nego bijelaca.

Hey there, I was just wondering why you would not like to see black people in Croatia. I am black and I would like to move there in the future. I have visited Croatia twice already and I really love it. But I would like to get an inside view of how the people there really look at black people. When I was there I was welcomed warmly and I did not experience any outward display of racism.....but mabe I was not paying close enough attention.
Anyway, if you could give a good point of view of Croatians and black people, that would be quite helpful.

Well generally, people here are not racists. But there are exceptions. We also have those 'skinheads' here and there are people who tend to stare at black people because they are not common to see here. But generally, I would say that there is much more racism in western Europe then here in Croatia. Seriously.
Croatia is carefully viewed by EU when it comes to racism and intolerance (mostly because of the Homeland War that's been going on at the beginning of the 90's), and yet, a member of another national minority or another race is more likely to get a job here than, say, in France (as I've heard).
Lately, there are many people from China moving to Croatia and starting their business here. People from Africa or, say, African-americans are not moving here much, but I would say that you wouldn't have much trouble here.

thanks for responding to my post. It does help quite a bit. What you said actually re-affirms what I was already thinking. I do know that racism is more evident in places like France.....I also know that racism is everywhere because it is human nature. However when I visited Croatia, I didn't feel it much...People were generally very happy to see me. It was actually quite refreshing. I actually saw more tension towards Serbians and the Chinese.....but it was not much. However, what concerned me was when I saw the previous comment is this thread asking why would you want to see black people here...It did not upset me, because I am very realistic about these things. I just wanted to know if there was some other kind of underlying point of view about black people that the Croatians have that I did not pick up.

i havent seen black people aswell.. but i just was in a very touristical place on holiday...
i havent seen alot of REAL croatians aswell.. most where people from abroad working there...
But the ones ive met where very nice!
