Well, I like both, as for typing I would prefer simplified because I can use pinyin to type quicker but for reading a book, I prefer traditional Chinese because I am more used to it.

how about you?

definitely traditional, because it's the original chinese characters having linguistic features which represent our history and culture.

Are you kidding me? Of course it's Traditional, though simple Chinese is easy to use.
Traditional one helps your understand the meaning and how it came from
Pls support Traditional Chinese

I can't say which one prefer, but they are all great. I can read traditional ones but find it too complicated to write (I'm never able to write them). But they do reflect the meaning better. So when I read traditional ones, I feel the tradition.

Ya traditional words help us understand the meaning better and easier....
hehehe

for me,,i prefer traditional,,,,,,it is more beautiful and can help you to know what's the meaing of that word.

femaledownfall | 3 November 2006 - 1:21pm

I think you should say it appropriately that the mainland is using simplified characters. To me, I can read both characters, but I can't write the traditional ones. So we are glad to have you fellow Chinese who still use traditional characters.

femaleamychan | 23 November 2006 - 4:01pm

i prefer traditional chinese,as well~~ the traditional characters just look better and you can understand their compsition better...the simplified ones look a lil crappy but are easy to memorize lor ^^

femalesnow_hail | 17 December 2006 - 12:43pm

Traditional... it looks nicer...
When I look at the simplified ones, it seems like the words are handicapped...

I'm an old Irish-American lady so I'm no expert, but the Traditional ones look so beautiful. Take the word "ma" for horse. The new one looks like they took all the fur off the horse! They skinned it. I want to learn to read traditional because the more people who read it, the less quickly it will disappear. I like a lot of old Chinese music--don't laugh--there's lots of people who listened to American music and liked it without knowing English. There seems to be two major leagues.Cantonese, and Mandarin (my favorite is Cantonese). and they always put the song lyrics inside the cds so you can understand the singer if they play for the opposite team, as it were. I try to decifer the lyrics with my trusty Chinese dictionary. I like to see the scores in Traditional, so to speak. She she, doh je and m'goi

Yup traditional looks a lot better, but in some cases simplified should/must be used he he

you can use an online dictionary: www.chinese-tools.com for simplified Chinese while the other one: www.mandarintools.com , you can find there a dictionary for Traditional Chinese...

On chinese-tools.com you can try Chinese songs there with lyrics and translation as well.
You can also find lots of songs with lyrics online, so the above URLs may be of help.

Have a nice day!
