for me,i was brought up in mainland.we are taught that taiwan is a part of china,and it cannot be broken down.everyone in mainland have learn an artical about riyuetan of time in the textbook of grade one in primary school.but the truth is,it si still too far away from us.we don' t know how it is really like and what the taiwanese think.except for the politician,normal people are kind and friendly to everyone.there is no real hate in their mind.

I have been talking (getting in touch) with both people from the Mainland and Taiwan (in Vietnam) they are all nice (no good or bad here!)
However, I would say some (yes, SOME, not many, not all, ...) Taiwanese younger generation (25+ -30+ years) does have/form some prejudices towards Mainland, which in my humble opinion, is not righteous.
So I think the question should the other way around

It is ridiculous that most people from other countries keep looking into China-Taiwan issues and blame China for this and that. Well, make sure no one want a piece of your country's land and set a government against yours.
Prejudices do not necessarily mean wars especially in this case. It is also like people have prejudices towards China of all matters.

race of people reject their origin? Maybe I've gotten something wrong but I think the problem more likely resides in that Taiwan dont want to be communist vassals? That on the other hand is fully understandable to me..

Its too hard to really comment on the situation there... Taiwan is a Democratic nation but technically it was part of China until 1949 when Chiang Kai Shek fled there with the remainder of his army and supporters with a vast amount of China's wealth and they considered themselves the true China... But even now Chiang's political party is more inclined to rejoin mainland China or if not that to at least improve relations. I only know the history of the situation, not what the people of Taiwan think though... so in the end I can't really say
