When I was in Hong Kong staying with a friend's family, we usually used chopsticks, but depending on the food or if we were out in a resturant we sometimes used western cutlery. Personal choice I think ![]()
I can imagine some foods are quite difficult, if not impractical, to eat with chopsticks.
Anything eaten with fork is doable with chopsticks but not the other way round hehe... when it comes to shrimp, crab... we use hands.

well, in TAIWAN, we usually used chopsticks at home and school when me eat meals.
but if we were out in the resturant, we sometimes used western cutlery.
cause it also offers western cutlery there and it would be a good choice to use them.
hmm.. actually, chopsticks is a good appliance for us.
When I go to a Chinese restaurant, I embarrass my children because when the waiter asks , "Do you want chopsticks or a fork?" I answer, "That all depends on how much you like to vacuum."
I can even imagine myself with chopsticks ...
one question here ... does it take the same time as while eating with spoons or forks ?

by the time u realise ur father was right.. u would have a son who thinks ur wrong.
when i was in china, i alsways got chopsticks and i didn't mind
i'm still regularly using them.
to respond the how fast question..
It depends... I can eat noodles faster with chopsticks.; but with rice it depends.. cause they don't have that good sticky rice over here.
Chopsticks make me take more time to lunch and that makes it a lot healthier and it's always a challenge to compete with my brother at eating slippery things like muchrooms and little raw tomatoes,..
i really really enjoy it

Chinese guest workers in israel eat with chopsticks..I mean proper ones made from bamboo..Japanese chopsticks are shorter and called Hashi..

The younger generations are now more used to Western cutlery, I guess... just like we do over here... we use chopsticks but then I may use forks ect occasionally.
