no,please!!! didn't we manage to overcome the 80s?!
there'S a couple of guys running around here in the city.it has nothing to do with being gay...being gay is no problem of course.bit it IS a "problem" running around like 80spop stars! usually I think those guys aren't gay anyway,because gay people tend to have much better sense for style/fashion (not all of them of course!).
but its just a stupid trend,so it will fade away soon.
I am such an 80's kid. I loved that look. I knew a few guys who did the whole New Romantic thing, but sadly, never hooked up with any.
I was never into Japan but David Sylvian is incredible looking.
I liked Ultravox a lot. They just wore suits with skinny ties usually, but they looked good. As did Duran Duran.

No, I used to be a heavy rocker in the eighties, so that new romantic look... you know, whenever we saw it we made fun of the poor guys in that fashion. Moreover, my country had that male-driven society tradition and values in which a man with an earring was automatically declared gay and put under the spotlight to be scorned. I used to have long hair (when I had some hair ), but in the rock style, and a luxuriant black beard too. But even that way I sensed from time to time the disapproval of people looking at me. I remember one day I was talking to an ex-cop and he told me plainly that a decade earlier he would have put me in jail just for looking like that.
