Ciao !

As I stayed in Italy for 3 weeks, I came to think
what kind of music is popular in Italy.

Especially CD are bit expensive there, and I have
no idea about Italian music. If you give me some hints,
I would be appriciated Smile

Hi!

If you are interested in classical music I can recommend you some great recordings, especially of early music (I only have to "browse" my enormous CD-archive to do this), but if it is pop- /rock-music what you are looking for I regret, I cannot help you. I haven't a clue of this kind of music!

Thx for your reply.
Sorry I should have made it clear! I meant "Italian musician"

Sometimes French pops, Latin, Salsa etc are available in Japan,
but I can hardly find Italian music (even canzone) at a shop.

That's a reason. Smile

Melodic music is most popular, but other kinds of music are diffused: for example heavy metal and alternative bands like Exilia, Extrema, Rhapsody, Lacuna Coil, Linea77, Klimt 1918, Novembre, Necrodeath. Rock on

femaleGingerAle | 27 January 2008 - 9:07pm

hey! I listen to italian music sometimes, cause i'm learning italian...
Once I saw video of Luca Di Risio on youtube... Do u know him?) Is he popular or not?
So, in records he sings rather good.... not good, but normal, I'd better say.. However on those videos from youtube he sang live... It was awful! xDD Moreover he always looks like he's gonna lose his trousers... Very funny guy really xDD

femaleel1973 | 27 January 2008 - 10:35pm

Luca Dirisio became popular some years ago, when he was awarded the prize as revelation of the year at a popular festival called "Festivalbar". On the whole I wouldn't say that he is among the most popular italian singers. As for the difference between his recorded and his "live" performances, that is true of many singers I find.
