Dissolution of democratic CSR in the 1990ties: good decision or mistake ?

I'm interested in learning, how Czech mailfriends see the dissolution of the post-communist, democratic CSR in the 1990ties, on the basis of a referendum organized by Slovakian nationalists like Meciar.
Was it a good or bad idea to dissolve the common state ?
Ok, finally both nations got their EU memberships in spite of the fear of certain contemporary EU leaders, that especially with regards to Slovak government, this might be like an import of another separtatist problem (as Spain, Belgium and Italy also have experienced the separatism problem less or more, reciprocally) to EU.
And I'm glad, that the decision of EU membership of Czech Republic and Slovakia was not influenced by the fears of contemporary EU leaders (before CZ and SVK joined in 2004).
Any other decision would have done injustice above all to the Czechs, who then would have been punished for the behaviour of Slovak nationalists.
What?
But in spite of being lucky, that this finally was not the case, I can not deny, that I personally think, that it is damned implausible to speak of EU or even "United Europe", as long, as separatist / nationalist tendencies exist in certain countries / areas of EU.

Czechs were happy cause they got rid of the Slovaks, who were holding back the Czech developement, at least that's what they thought. As a matter of fact, since then both Czech and Slovak Republics developed very well.
Now I want you to tell me what the problem is of separatism. And tell me what could be wrong in an independent Bask Country, an independent Flanders or Cataluna, or Tibet, Uygur, Palestine, Chechnia, Somaliland, Kosovo for that matter. I mean... what could be wrong about it, except for the mutual economic progress, lower taxes and full cultural autonomy?

Btw... EU actually supports minorities in the form of Europe of the regions, giving certain autonomies to regions (also trans-national. eg. Limburg Euregion, containing parts of Belgium, Netherlands and Germany)
I can speak for the Flemish, some (but that's a minority) are in favour of independence or at least confederalist Belgium, I belong to the first. But also the separatists are mostly for EU, and even more EU integration. The difference is that EU is a group of countries with mutual agreements, while several European states are made, in the best case by a central power conquering an area. In the case of Italy and Belgium, but also several countries more east (Poland, CSR, Ukraine, Moldova...) some foreign countries decided that they would be countries.

To deng:
My impression is, that you are just trying to spam some channels (country / general channels) with your ugly Vlams Belang stuff. Except your remark about Czechs who were happy to separate from Slovakia, your answers match neither the topic nor the channel.
And your statement about an "independant Palestine" surely gives any democrate in a deep view in the abbyss of your extreme right views.
