University of Vilnius

I'm seriously considering coming to Vilnius next year to study there for a year or a semester (have to discuss with my professors first what would be best). I study Slavistics and Eastern European studies and our professor told us that both Russian and Polish were taught in Vilnius. The reason why I would choose Vilnius instead of a Russian or a Polish university, is because I would love to get to know the Baltic states too. Now I would like to know the experiences of people who went to that university or still go there. Is it a nice place to study? What's the level of the studies? etc

Thanks in advance

well, I'm still at school but I have some friends whose are studying at Vilnius University.
It's really nice place to study (I've been there few times) and academics there are great. To my mind that would be a good place for your studies Smile I think about studies there after school graduation.

I'm currently studying at Vilnius university, but not at the faculty you're about to come to Very happy it's great fun to study here, but as always it quite hard, therefore you should learn a lot!! Wink a foreigner told me that he's very very happy to have come here, because he can take any courses he likes and they're very interesting!! Very happy
if you have any questions, write me;) i'll be glad to help you Wink

We can take courses at any faculty, but I'll probably stick with arts and cultural studies as those are the things that interest me. Studying hard is also not a problem for me, because I have to do that now too. I think it's normal that you need to study hard at university.
I'm really looking forward to come and you can expect a message from me soon, 'cause there are a few things I'd love to know. Wink

That would be so nice of you. I'm also thinking about coming earlier to be there during the orientating week for foreigners. That way I won't get lost that easily on campus. Very happy I believe we can ask for a mentor. I need to check that again on the website. Smile
