Islas Malvinas, South Georgia, South Sandwich, and Argentine Antartica.
Have you been to these places? Islas Malvinas looks kind of cold and miserable, hard to believe a war was fought over them but one side believes that they belong to them and the over side feels the same way, age old reason for war. The South Sandwiches are a favorite place for amateur radio operators to go on an expedition to, also a deslolate place, and then there is Argentine Antartica and we all know what the weather is like in that place.

Thank you conservative Bush/McCain Republicans for global warming, the use of food (corn ethanol) in the gas tanks of SUV's causing famine all over the world. resulting in slow death for all life on earth. Thank you for urban sprawl, the non-stop building of new homes that no one wants, and the destruction of all farmland to build the new homes with illegal labor from south of the border that you won't protect. Thank you for trying to destroy Social Security and medical care for all Americans, great bunch of guys, oh did I mention the non stop wars to support conservative republican arms and ammunition manufactures?
This topic wasn't meant for people living in Greenland. It was posted in the Argentina channel duh!!

Malvinas Islands = Falklands. Both words may be used to talk about it but it's a question of ideologies or preferences..These islands are called by us Malvinas, of course.
I've never been to Malvinas but I want to do it someday, It would be just for curiosity, nothing special..I mean, when the Malvinas War startet, I was only 3 years old that's why it doesn't mean too much for me.
Anyway, I'm against the war and this war, in particular, was completely in vain. Many young soldiers were killed just because the argentina's government wanted to hide and deny many obvious weaknesses of that military regime.

It's not so easy for us to visit them. A lot of people asked for years in order to see their son's grave and they've just achieved their goal.
As you say the weather isn't the best, at least in my parameters.
Malvina's war is a huge topic to speak about, may be not the nicest also.
My mother recently visited the Malvinas/Falklands, and she really liked it there - a very quiet, unique place with some coloruful local characters living there! As for whether they should belong to Britain or Argentina, well I'm not sure - personally I don't mind. Although they are much closer to Argentina, and technically it would make more sense for them to be part of that country, we should probably just let the people who live there decide, and if they want to stay with Britain, I don't see why it should be a huge problem - after all, they're only a few little islands, and Argentina is pretty massive! The Falklands war was pretty unnecessary, and I hope nothing like it happens again - all those lives wasted.

First of all you need to call them by the correct name THE FALKLAND ISLANDS (UK territory) and not Islas Malvinas, and no I've never been myself but some of my relatives have while in the armed forces.

Not everybody refers to them as Malvinas.
