Well one I really liked when I've been there is the song
La cumbia - Por que te amo

malejavelin | 29 April 2007 - 1:25am

What kind of music and dancing do young Argentines like? Rumba, Tango, Flaminco,Rock and Roll, Disco. My favorite was disco to listen to and dance to. I like to listen to Latin bands playing all sorts of music.

Thank you conservative Bush/McCain Republicans for global warming, the use of food (corn ethanol) in the gas tanks of SUV's causing famine all over the world. resulting in slow death for all life on earth. Thank you for urban sprawl, the non-stop building of new homes that no one wants, and the destruction of all farmland to build the new homes with illegal labor from south of the border that you won't protect. Thank you for trying to destroy Social Security and medical care for all Americans, great bunch of guys, oh did I mention the non stop wars to support conservative republican arms and ammunition manufactures?

Mmmm there are a lot of different clubs around here. Most of them plays a music called cumbia, a latin "danceable" music. In those places you can hear some reaggeton and a little of electronic, just the very known songs.
But, there are othre places wher you found much more electronic music (I don't know the differences between genres) and in other places gothic/industrial. But they are very few against the others.

I don't here too much argentinian music, it'd be difficult for me to recommend something then but may be you should try tango or milonga in order to hear typical music. But you should know also that it's not as popular as it was.

First, we are not talking about discotheques here! please respect the topics as we do it in every MF channel.
Second, I'd like to recommend some pop bands from Argentina that are very sucessful in many LatAm countries: Soda Stereo, Gustavo Cerati, Babasonicos, Fito Paez, Miranda, la Portuaria, Erica Garcia and and.. what else? Smile

Of course there are a lot more, but here I can slide some of them which I like of course.
Punk rock: Attaque77
Heavy classical music: Rata Blanca
Soft romantic folklore: Los Nocheros
Social solists: León Gieco, Víctor Heredia, Mercedes Sosa
New age tango: Astor Piazzola
Classical music: Mariano Mores

I don't remember more than these personnalities, cause I don't like much more than that. I hate cumbia and tropical music, he he, so, not a single example of them.

When one is very young and a little is known, mountains are mountains, water is water and trees are trees. When one has studied and one has been reading, mountains are no longer mountains, water is no longer water and the trees are no longer trees. When one is wise, once more the mountains are mountains, the water is water and the trees are trees…

I would like to recommend Goyeneche, one of the greatest tango singers.

And for those who like rock and reggae Kapanga, Los cafres and Nonpalidece.
