Soccer is important in Brazil as it is other sports in other countries... It's the most famous sport in Brazil but Brazil isnt all about soccer for sure. Not even just about Carnival, beaches or forest... Brazil is MUCH MORE than that!

I think is somewhat like saying "Canada is all about hockey".

Many sport fans Canadians like this label, but that does not mean there isn't anything else to do in Canada than watching a hockey match, nor that every single Canadian agrees with the above statement...

No, in my opinion. I hate soccer and i think that there are more interesting things in Brazil. Foreing people think that Brazil is just soccer, beautiful women and samba. It must change. We have to be known by others things too. Think about this!!!!! :-)

I must say I don't like football either, but can't deny that is important.

Football mooves mountains of money in Brazil, and is directly and undirectly answearable by lots of jobs.

Unfortunately, is answearable also for lots of cases of violence, murders and vandalism practiced by brainless fanatics.

It is really important, for good or for bad.

I particularly dont like football, except the world cup matches when all become a patriots and theres that whole vibrating atmosphere and sense of togetherness.

like someone said before, i see it as an entertaiment option and a national sport. The fact we are a massive exporter of football players and have won many world cups, creates this image of a football-obssesed nation when in fact you cannot generalize it. I have been to scotland for example and could notice there a more intense dedication to football than what i see around here...

Hey, Brazil is my favorite, in the World Cup, I love it when they beat Italy. Our city downtown goes crazy and shuts the streets down for the festivities. I am sad they weren't in the Euro cup though.
