Not to kill your enthusiasm, but I'm never sure why people are proud to be any particular ethnic group--it's not like they actually accomplished anything to have gotten there.

Proud of the accomplishments this or that group has made, maybe something like that, but pride in just being ofa certain nationality doesn't settle well with me.

for what little percent of filipino i am(about 25%) im not proud, but very curious in the culture i come from

I am not a filipino but I have been living here partically all of my life. There are some things that filipinos would be proud of like their food, hospitality and friendliness. On the other hand, there are also things that filipinos should be ashamed of and try to change: laziness, mamaya na habit, trying to make easy money, fooling others especially foreigners, corruption, lousy government, etc.
