Dreaming of someone that has died, does not mean that they
will "take you." I consider that a folk tale. I believe people dream of loved ones that have passed to let us know that they are
ok.

I think moonshadow is right, my mum passed away just over a year ago from cancer, i spent nearly every night for 9 months wishing her back, but the one and only time i have had a dream of my mum since she has gone was her reminding me of how ill she was before she died, and if she came back she would be the same, and that i was to let her go and move on with my life, and that she will always be with me in spirt, since then i go to bed and wish her well, but never to come back.

Well, I don't plan on any of my deceased loved ones dragging me off to The Land of Death during my sleep. It's an idea I had not thought of before. I suppose it might be possible.

I often dream about my Mother who passed away in 2002. In 99% of the dreams about her, she is being very nasty and vengeful towards me. I wake up quite traumatized. I do hope that these dreams are just the workings of my mind and not my Mother really visiting me in this way in my dreams.

have a good relationship with her? If not, then maybe,
you are creating these bad dreams of your remembrance
of her. If you did have a good relationship, well, I
personally don't think that she is actually coming
to you in dreams to be deliberately mean. Lokinvar

Seriously though, I am in full agreement with MoonShadow that you may be creating the feelings yourself. I wonder if deep down, you have some feeling of guilt in connection with her passing. (I revert to Spiritualist mode here and not say death )

I have heard very extreme cases where a spirit can be vengeful but even these seem to have been where the spirit in question was intensifying feelings that were already in the mind of the victim. Something you told me when we spoke about healing convinces me your mother was not vengeful .

Its not bad ........ sometimes u can think about a person so much and hope they will reach u sumwhere from beyond what u can hope for ... U can talk to them so much and hope they will respond and then they answer u in a dream - but is it really jus a dream or is is sumthig much more? Maybe they jus wanna take u on a journey and show u what they see and how they can react to u? They may wanna show u jus how much they are able to contact the living world and they can only do this in a dream .... becos so many people jus dont belive in the eternal soul

Well, my mother is an ill person, and years ago, she used to go into these kind of....hmmmm, let's call them unconscious/dream-like states, and she talked to my nanna (she spoke to her like she was stood there, at the foot of her bed). I firmly believe that she was communicating with her.

Before my grandmother died with Parkinson's, she was always seeing and talking to 'little people' (her term) in her room. Everyone said that was just one of her many symptoms of dementia. I say how do we know they weren't there, just because we couldn't see them?

they help me to solve problems or just let me know that they are okay...

i used to have nightmares of my grandmother laying in her coffin, standing up to get me!!!
then one night i asked her to help me stop those dreams, with a candle (my grandpa said i had to try it, i told him about my dreams.. i knew shed never hurt me....but still the dreams where scary)..
then that night i dreamt she was in the hospital...... waking up, smiling at me... and tookmy hand and we walked out of the hospital.. she told me i should never be scared of her.....(i was scared by her death body, not herself)..........i have a stong band still with her.. i sence her in the house sometimes.... (i suddenly smell her fave fl;owers out of nothing).....also grandpa.. because they both promisedme to be my guardianangels when they died... lol grandpa sets the clock still on his birthday.. or the day he died.....(once even the excact time of death, that freaked me out a bit)
my best friend makes the wich laugh i have gotten from his belongins when i think of him suddenly...
at first that scared me.. now im udes to all those things.. things that cant happen without force or power.... but they do.. i believe its all messages from my loved ones... if not... then its my mind playing tricks on me.. but i rather believe its them!!!!!

i have a dream of a relation that had died over a year ago, i like to believe that he was visiting me, he was showing all about the magical places on earth is was comforting, and fun. its one of those dreams that you remember.

I don't buy into the whole, they will take you, because otherwise i would imagine that murders victims would come back and take the murderer to hell as pay back. just a thought

I have dreams about my mom and also bad where she is being mean and nasty but that was how she was like in her living life too.
Allthough i hoped with her dying i would be sort of free from that but as it seems she ain't done with it.
I try to wake cause i know im dreaming and when i finally wake up im shaky and sweaty and my heart beats in highspeed. I have to wake Marc up to calm me down after those dreams.

Most of the times when someone has past away i will dream one or two times about them but mostly it is a sort closing off and that's it.

I agree. And, in addition to that, we sometimes dream of our loved ones who passed away because they want to say goodbye to us. I once dreamed about my uncle a few weeks after he died. I was really crying when I heard news of his death because it has been years since I last saw him. We weren't able to attend his wake and funeral since it was too far away--- I really wanted to, though. I guess that's why he visited me in my dream. In my dream, he went into our house and walked directly to me. He hugged me tightly and said, "I'll miss you." I woke up crying.

A friend told me once that she dreamt about her grandfather and that he told her a lot of things. I think that it's possible, even though it doesn't happen to me.
Well, once the ghost of my grandmother came to visit my father for the chinese new year, but he was not at home. She decided to visit me :s It was really weird, i couldn't move nor breath. This situation happened to me twice, but i don't know who visited me those times.
