it could be how big or how small the picture is as well !!! if thats the case u can either crop the photo or make it bigger check the requirments for picture sizes on here!!!

this picture upload issue is probable something very silly like wrong file permissions. it would be nice if the developers could spend 5 minutes of their precious time on this problem.

Nope; looks like it's a serious problem. This morning I took my holiday photo off and wanted to upload an Audrey Hepburn picture again and I was unable. I tried with several pics and I always got the exact same reply as you did. I hope this gets fixed because I do not intend to remain faceless :S . I hope it just has to do with them workign on the site: but please fix it

same here!!! grrrrr i was talking with a girl about a bag i made..and told her i was going to upload it as a profile pic so she can see (i tried posting in the gallery but for some reason, it wouldn't let me *rolling eyes*)..so anyhoo, of course it tells me the same stupid crap reason. i even changed it to bitmap, img, gif..just to see..nopie nope. wonderful MF glitch, as usual. it's the hiccup of the week, i guess.

I cant get it to work either ... i know its often been a bit of a pain trying to upload pics but now it tells me time after time of trying that '...The uploaded file was not an image' well i know for sure that it is !!!

interesting.. it didn't work for me for like two days and when it finally worked out I (maybe naively) thought they had actually fixed the problem, but looks like some other people are still facing that issue

I've just tried to upload a new picture but unlike the messages people seem to be getting I just get Done at the bottom of the screen but the screen is blank, so i refresh and i'm still faceless.

as usual... nope. but don't give up. keep on trying and one day it might work for you, as it did for me (assuming you are still experiencing that problem)

After a short ish break from Mailfriends I thought I'd have a bash at uploading my picture and hey presto, uploading without a problem. Excellent!
