are there any croats you've heard of? any of them popular in your country? and what do you think of them?

and to all croats... in your opinion, who are the croats who are popular abroad? and why?

My favourite Croatian is Goran Ivanišević. I used to watch a bit of tennis.....not all that much, just Wimbledon mainly, but i just loved the guy. His character, humour, the entertainment you got when he was playing, and of course he was a very talented guy. I was so pleased when he won Wimbledon. A million times more pleased than i would have been if a British player had won. (since i'm british i mean) But anyway, yeah......Goran. What a guy. Very happy Hailing

I know soooo many Croats who are well known here where I live, it wouldn't all fit! Smile To name just a few that come to mind right now: Stjepan Mesić, Goran Ivanišević, Severina, Goran Karan, Oliver Dragojević, Vesna Pisarović, Ivan Ljubičić, Mario Ančić, Janica Kostelić, Ivica Kostelić, Blanka Vlašić... and many others.

In Lithuania, a basketball country, everybody knows Croatian basketballers: legends Drazen Petrovic RIP, Toni Kukoc, Dino Radja, Zan Tabak; nowadays players Mario Kasun, Nikola Vujcic, Zoran Planinic, Marko Popovic and coaches Neven Spahija, Jasmin Repesa.
