The black hole
...in my house apparantly is beyond my child's bed!
A few minutes ago I was making his bed and the mattress, which slides a bit, moved out and I saw a few things between the wall and where the mattress was. When I examined closer, I saw several items that I had thought I'd misplaced. They aren't dangerous or even especially important items, but I wondered if my kid is turning into a little gremlin who hides things behind the bed. Or maybe they just fascinated him? (Some of them were his things, as well.) Is he putting them in what he thinks is a safe place so they won't get lost? (I know.)
Has anyone else experienced this? Do little children often stow things away like this (even if in a different spot)?
(By the way, the black hole for the socks has yet to be discovered.)

Unfortunately, that monster doesn't like socks that have gone pink after washing some stuff wrong. ![]()

We're all pretty bizarre. Some of us are just better at hiding it, that's all.
lol @ shelyra, I do know that monster, I just haven't found him yet.
All my socks lost probably are fluffing up his pillows. ![]()

I used to stash things underneath my bed.
Every few months my parents used to come in and lift up my bed and get me to crawl under there and hook the stuff out ![]()

When my daughters were younger I monthly used to make an inspection. I told them that I will dive underneath their bed and take everything I would find and keep it for myself. I wore my snorkelling equipment ( I really did
) and crawled under the beds. The first time I found fortunes. socks, tissues, toys (Barbies) shool reports and so on. I stopped doing this little game when I found only tons of dust bunnies. I had great fun ![]()

hahaha i think boys are more prone than girls then! my daughter just throws everything under her bed..now, the boys..they stash things in crevices & holes.
i thought my boys were strange..it's almost comforting to know they're not alone in this bizarre hoarding technique.
i didn't know until spring of last year, that they had been hiding their money in my heater vents! i have these removeable ones on the floor, i take them out more in the summer (since they're closed & apt to gather dust bunnies)...there it was, in a pair of socks..coins! it seemed it was a joint effort. one sock was connor's the other, grant's.
they left the bills in their jar, though. it seems in little rugrats minds, they didn't have as much value..they're paper. duh.
and i have to agree about the socks..i don't even know why i keep the singles. it's not like the others are just going to miraculously show up one day. or will they? hmmm
