At the weekend, I watched Black Hawk Down. It was just ghastly. I don't think I've ever seen such a violent movie before.

First one that comes to mind is Baisse-moi, followed by natural born killers.

for me it would be the korean movie Oldboy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oldboy) The violence is not only in a fysical way but more even on a personal and mental level. Very extreem!!

but never the less a movie that you have to see.

femaleAura321 | 4 October 2007 - 2:56pm

Probably some war-movie, like Talvisota (Finland) or Taegugki (S. Korea), its very hard to stuff the amount of violence found in a war movie into an ordinary action movie

Minuit, thats how it was Wink Black Hawk Down is a very good film, shows that you can't undermine the enemy and must treat them with some caution and respect.

malefirewalkwithme | 6 October 2007 - 10:04am

there are very different levels of violence in movies..and they intention they have (exploitation or just for the sake of action/violence etc etc) ,so I cant count it down to only one specific movie. or,a movie can have only 1 or 2 violent scenes but they can be pretty intense and make the whole movie/atmoshere "violent" or,lets say "kill bill or something...violence is shown as something "cool",even funny there etc.. etc etc... so violence isn'T = violence in movie.
black hawk down is a crap film, btw.

maleel_educator | 6 October 2007 - 5:49pm

kill bill vol. 1-2

Yeah right, good choice! And besides that I would also name Natural Born Killers.

femalelucky__me | 7 October 2007 - 10:58am

Usually I don't watch that kind of movies. Maybe it could be some of those with Bruce Willis

femaleMoonlight_Izzy | 7 October 2007 - 11:12am

I second what Firewalkwithme said. I watched a documentary on the American film rating system and they are biased in favour of violence. Basically, if a film has a lot of violence (fantastical or not) it will get a lower rating than a film that has, say, a sex scene. I'm not a fan of overly violent films. Saying that, one of my favourite trilogies is the Die Hard series. But that's nothing compared to some of the splatter films you get today.

On that note, I'm surprised no-one's mentioned Battle Royale. Probably one of the most violent films I've ever seen.

Hell i don't know, i've seen quite a few bloodbaths over the years. I honestly couldn't say which was THE most violent film i ever saw. Thinking of a film i only saw recently (on sky), i actually thought The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning was pretty violent. Very gory, though i thought it was pretty sh*t. I tend not to like movies that are violent/bloody/gory just for the sake of it. This is something crap and unnecessary, but it's often done because the 'storyline' or 'plot' is so thin and shitty.

I saw an animated film years ago but i can't remember what the hell it was called. It was clay animation i think, and very over-the-top violent/gory. It involved a lawnmower......anybody?! Anyway. Very happy

Tarantino, of course!!!!!! But I think the most violent is Pulp Fiction, there's that scene when Travolta blows up the head of the nigger in the back of the car, an awful scene, and the audience (including me) just couldn't stop laughing!!!! And the sweet shot of adrenaline on Uma Thurman's you know what, one of the rare times a director has actually shocked me... Well, that's violence!!!!!!!!

It shouldn't be banned for being disgusting.

It should be banned for one reason, purely because it's just awful!

femalewingsoficarus | 25 October 2007 - 6:24pm

Hmm, probably Cannibal holocaust or I Spit On Your Grave.

maleEdIsBack | 25 October 2007 - 10:07pm

Is Cannibal Holocaust any good?

Hmm, the plot is very uncertain and continually goes off on tangents. However, the film is very unique, extremely disturbing and won't bore you. It is worth seeing for the sake of how weird and shocking it is.

maleslakker | 26 October 2007 - 6:43am

"I spit on your grave" is one of my fav. B-movies, not that violent really but disturbing it is for sure, god I love that bathtub-scene, "snip!" Laughing
