Please note, if you can speak the language of the country channel, you do not have to be a citizen of that country to apply...although it would be preferable.

Theres not many users around, there has been a need for an extra moderator for the Denmark Channel for ages now, Singapore channel is a mess, etc etc, regarding the sudden lack of moderators in the Paranormal channel, you'll have to ask the modboard about that...

Is it time to discuss the need for all these country channels? In the beginning it seemed like a good idea to me too but now I think it is a disaster. At the start of Mailfriends there was only the U.S. and the U.K. channels and that was it. Actually I understand at the very start of Mailfriends there were three country channels, Germany, U.S., and U.K. but Germany was dropped even though Germans owned the site.

It's to be expected that a lack of patronage in the country channels will lead to a lack of interest in moderating these places.

Paranormal channel has already gone to vote with several applicants.

I always think country channels should not just be destined to the people of the countries that have channels here. Country channels is another means for people from other countries to come and learn more about the culture, language(s), custom, lifestyle, society,... and even news/updated information about travelling, foreign policies, .... therefore they do not need to be very active but keeping thinking a country channel is for people of that country to come and chit chat will lead to the current situation and can be worse!

It is not WHAT you give, but HOW you give that counts!
