I had a computer when I was working but it wasn't hooked up to the internet. I do understand that not everyone can be honest in answering the topic. That in itself my endanger their job.

Thank you for trying to destroy Social Security and medical care for all Americans, great bunch of guys, oh did I mention the non stop wars to support conservative republican arms and ammunition manufactures?

Yes, surfing the Internet is allowed, but many websites (including ones like Mailfriends and Facebook) bring up an error message when you try to access them.

I work from home so yes I do.

I don't even have a computer at work. But even the office staff doesn't have access, only some senior managers have it. Spicy detail, the guy in charge of the computers told me the vice president is using it for private things. Wink

I didn't surf the internet while I was working ... When you have a job, you go there to work and not just for surfing the net.

don't be so strict. of course it depends on what your job is. I was recently developing a web proxy with some "interesting" features, and.. guess what? I had to surf the internet in order to test the work I was doing Wink

Agree, depends entirely on the type of work, it would be wise to shut news sites and communities off though and I'd also like to shut the email off for large parts of the day since my coworker is a serious mail-o-holic but dont know how to do that...

at work I used to do whatever I wanted, surfing the internet was fine, they didn't really care what I did, but then I quit that shop and got another and now I don't because I just don't have the time.

malezoom1018 | 15 November 2007 - 11:02am

Well, I can use whichever internet-connected computers I like to access any pages, which are not filtered by/from/via the "GATEs", I want to. he he he

Sure, I'm doing it right now Laughing Part of my work involve surfing the Internet, so there's no problem with it. Of course, if I begin to abuse of this privilege... things could be different, so I try not to.

If I couldn't do it, I wouldn't have survived at work. One can not work 7,5 hours a day without a break. I have all my breaks at my desk, even lunch, that is one hour to relax and read news or do whatever I want to do. But I also get my work done, kinda important....

femaleel1973 | 19 November 2007 - 9:27pm

I'm not allowed to surf the net during my working hours, except during lunch break.

malemjh1979 | 24 December 2007 - 7:49pm

We are allowed to surf during our working time without any restrictions. My employer trusts that we are able to prioritise our workload with "taking a break" every so often.

I have thankfully never worked anywhere that limits my internet access

femaleRika Kosta | 2 May 2008 - 8:36pm
