The upside and downside of best friends?

I guess the downside of best friend is the pain that arises from their betrayal. Being hurt by people isn't fun. Being hurt by people you love most is heart-wrenching.

The upside being there when you need them,
the downside, turning their back when you need
them the most.

If they betray you then they were not a true friend which in any case means you are better off.

The good thing about having a bestfriend is that you have someone you can tell everything openly. The downside about it is that when a sort of betrayal happens between the two of you, it'll be a bit hard to patch things up.
