lol when i HAD a maid we (not me, really) said to dust things properly as well.

I usually try to dust under thngs, and sometimes I am lazy, but I admit it is made easier by the fact that I don't use a duster (which just rearranges the dust in my opinion), so I don't get it all up my nose usually. I use a damp cloth and a dry one.

i live in a dust trap because of all the building going on,and it is so bad it even bothers me..well by a miracle a new char,the bad news is ,my russian is pathetic..so when i got sick of pantomime i drove her to an electrical goos store where they are bilingual..in short a 2000 watt hemilton vacuum..it has an attachement,round with 5cm hairs nothing beside remains..took her a few goes to empty it but no matter..new theory..if she thinks she needs something to enhance the effectiveness of her cleaning...GET IT FOR HER!!sheket and shalva = peace and quiet...

When I dust myself which is not too oftenm I usually pick things up.

I love my static dust cloths and I lift things when dusting.

I pick 'em up and use those wet wipe things with the lemony smell that pick up all the crap and leave your room smelling lemon fresh! (Until someone eats a curry, that is)

I have to be thorough: I couldn't be like the late Quentin Crisp, who apparently once remarked that if you don't do the dusting after a few years, you actually stop noticing the dust levels building up! (Or something like that)

LOL I hold my hand up and say that if I EVER dust... it's with an old sock. And I'm a firm believer of just flicking round objects with said sock.
