I'm very interested in India. And in Holland (and in other countries) is an Indian song, with (wrong) english subtitles, very popular.

You can see it here: http://nl.youtube.com/watch?v=ZA1NoOOoaNw

Do you think they make fun of India? Or can you laugh cause of this too?
I think it's a little bit respectless, but i have to say that the things they sing in this song, really sounds like the subtitles.

Anne.

I dont think they make fun of india / indians. I dont think anyone takes this way too seriously.

FYI : here is the exact translation for the first paragraph

Tamil-->
Kalluri vaanil kaayndha nilaavo

--> Is this the moon that shined during my college

Maanavar nenjil meyndha nilaavo

--> Is this the moon that grazed on the students heart

En madi meedhu saayndha nilaavo

--> That came and sat on my lap

Ennidam vandhu vaayndha nilaavo

-->That came to be only with me

I know the lyrics sound cheesy but nobody gives a damn.
