estonia is news..GOOD news...they now have 74 forest districts for a total of118,000 hectares..these places are sanctuaries,enforced and the good news is that several endangered species are making better comebacks than in other baltic areas,including birds..when the people back it it happens..dont forget your telephoto lense and have a good time...

well, Lahemaa is the most popular, yes... if it was summer id suggest Vilsandi National park... Estonia is little, but has a lot of areas that are protected...

ooo Eco-tourism:) i should know what to tell u, i study it:P but yes, my fav and others too i guess is lahemaa. but matsalu is great also:P but to visit those places should be spring, now u only see, snow, footsteps and well most animals walk in night or are already sleeping in their caves.

Also I went to some protected areas.. southeast of Johvi.. It had lots of small lakes around and it was really really beautifull... but I stabbed myself on a stick so if you see some bloody stick... Stomp on it for me

elistvere is a nice plase to visit.. its like an wildlife park.. there are wild pigs, and some animals more.. (in large cages).. and beautiful landscape..
and then theres meenikunno.. is like a city swamp .. you go there.. and walk on wood (its kinda booring for me.. cos i like the real nature.. i mean.. when i get water in my shoes, and feel the smap plants around me.. then i get the swamp feeling)

hmm... i advise to visit elistvere soon then.. cos the park aint getting any monye from coverment anymore..
but its.. a real nice wood park the cages are big.. lots of trees.. a nice lake..
hmm.. and kotku raba.. or something like that.. a swamp near Väätsa.. thats a real swamp.. theres a safe route there.. but its not from wood.. not like the tourist atraction like meenikunno..

hälves jah. correct. i did not have the time last time when i was at meenikunno, just few hundred metres we went forward, in 30min u can not do much.

well i suggested Soomaa also...lot of tracks and it's really interesting when you are there when it's dark...and you are using tracks which are closed.Then it's really sure you get your wet feet...believe me ..i know;)

soomaa is indeed great place!
