Canada - US
So i was wondering - I know Canada is not a US state (eh, brainy me) but i wonder how come. i mean historically. I mean... US was founded not far from Canada, and more and more colonies - British, Spanish - joined, but not Canada. did Canada have a different status, different kind of people (like not into revolution, but just digging gold and building igloos or something) Were they more british and not so much Italian-German-Jewish-Russian-Polish-Irish-... Or what is the reason?

jennyjen i think the tea was shipped direct from the producer in order to reduce freight costs and i do believe no one was forcing you to drink it and charging you exorbitant taxes ,with no safe spots in the commons....
simply put,the british colonists needed the british against the french colonists and the french colonists neede france against the british colonists,so everyone sat quiet....
It sure didn't come straight from the producer, cause law was that all traffic between one British colony and another place had to go through a british harbour. That's the basic idea about the tea party the fish near Boston had.

Its a long story, but essentially what became Canada was under French control until the end of the seven years war and later remained British despite an attempt during the American Revolution to capture it. But this was defeated at Quebec and that was it as I recall. Although in the war of 1812 and later territorial squabbles the boundaries and borders were disputed between Britain and The US.

Eh? Well, some in America may belittle our Canadian friends, but they taught us how to play hockey and belittle the French, (oh, no, we do that naturally). Canada is a nice place and we in America are thinking about buying Alberta. LOL

Buying Alberta? How about we play you a hockey game and winner take all?....... Alberta or Alaska. Then for round 2 we could have a snowball fight..... Manitoba or Minnesota. Next would be a curling game..... I suppose we could do basketball, but you guys would have to have your hands tied behind your back

they can curl for Saskatchewan ... its perfectly fitting I think. and I know we'd kick some serious ass at that.
Since most of our hockey players are Canadian who would play for the US?
I want to buy Cape Breton or have the people transported down here. They are the nicest people in the world (:

canada has better hockey players and i have found them really nice and friendly and not as outspoken as the americans
okay so we were lazy, when the americans chucked their tea in the harbour we drank our tea, mind you I don't recall ever getting huge shipments of the stuff from England (damn them for that) but yah, we just didn't go for it. the colonies at the time didn't join in, and I can only guess its because they were either loyal to England or France, which ever the case maybe.
