Have You Hugged a Swede Lately?
I thought this was kinda funny-interesting. I guess I have only met happy Swedes. :D ..and all their happy friends.

I laughed reading the last part, though. As far as I know, Americans hug all sorts of "vague" acquaintances at parties (well, at least when aided by alcohol). Who in the hell does these surveys? And did the Swedes asked not think these people were freaks for asking these questions?
So, Swedes, any of you guys here huggers?

Due to the terrible weather we have here we take a huge risk of catching a cold whenever we hug someone, but if we have catched a cold already we are happy to give hugs away ![]()

swedish people are humans too. believe it or not.. we are not aliens.. we show as much affection as anyone else does.. we are individuals so you can't draw every swedish person over one line.
people hold hands, walk close together, kiss each other on the street. we have no problem at all in showing affection. so no matter what anyone is saying you come here and see it for yourself ![]()
mysan is right, people are quite open with it here, its not like Japan where you are considered a "baka-puru" (idiot-couple) and beheaded if you'd kiss someone on the street. I havent seen any differences in any of the european countries, apart from germans being pervyer that is....

I figured that would be the case everyone is an individual, I was just repeating what my friend said.
Good to hear it from actual Swedes, not an American who visited there for a week (:
WHAT! your not aliens? I had that wrong too.. (:

i think it depends on who it is you are suppose to hug. we dont usually hug strangers. Mostly just hug friends and familymembers.
