Would you want your favorite book to be made into a movie?
and if so, which one?

I would like to see some of James Herberts books made into movies.

It would be fun to see one of Tom Sharpe,s books as a movie.

femaleNica | 9 December 2007 - 6:40pm

Craig Russell's "Blood Eagle" would be really nice. :]

malelokinvar | 10 December 2007 - 12:22am

I would love to have one of my own novels made into a successful film. I would hope that the script remain true to the original storyline... although my approval could be bought with suitable remuneration.

Oh yes, I'd love to see "The Lovely Bones" turned into a movie as well, that book is beautifully sad, but unique and so meaningful. Smile

malemaranello | 12 December 2007 - 11:33pm

I can't wait to see Angels and Demons by Dan Brown made into a movie.

femaledimanad | 14 December 2007 - 12:55am

Porno, by Irvine Welsh. For those of you who think I am a perv, you're probably right, but it's the sequal of Trainspotting. And Trainspotting is the only movie I know that is good as the book.

Any of the Thursday Last series by Jasper Fforde would work well on the big screen

i enjoyed the book Stardust by Neil Gaimen, the movie was just as good... so ok a few things were changed from the book, but it still was a great movie.

"For My Legionaries: The Iron Guard" - Corneliu Zelea Codreanu

If directed without any interference of stupid political correctness it would be the movie of the century

I'd totally want to see a modern War and Peace. It would never be as good, but I think it is time for today's world to once again attempt to capture it in film.

I think there was a similar topic once, but anyway. I'd say I can't wait to see The Hobbit turned into a film. Peter Jackson is working on it, despite the issues with New Line, and I'm pretty sure something good will come out of it.

@ Shaka: You are right, I wrote a similar topic once, but that was on movies that were already made.

Movie versions of literature are almost always disappointing. I agree with the person who would like to see a new War and Peace, but you can bet on such a thing being bad, if it is ever done.

I'd like to see a novel called Madame Solario made into a movie, but I don't trust anyone to do it well.

I'd also like to see a movie version of a narrative poem called Eros and Psyche by an English poet named Robert Bridges. Perhaps animation would be good for that one.

malesaras kumar nayak | 24 April 2008 - 8:29pm

The last samurai movie. The film's plot is based on the 1877 Satsuma Rebellion led by Saigō Takamori, and also on the story of Jules Brunet, a French army captain who fought alongside Enomoto Takeaki in the Boshin War.

femaleLesewurm | 1 May 2008 - 5:28pm

Yes. I wish I could watch a "The vampire Armand" (by Anne Rice) movie. But I would even love to see the book "Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell (by Susanna Clarke) made into a movie.
