Telling someone our own phone numbers or e-mail addresses...
I think we've got many occasions to be asked for our phone numbers or e-mail addresses... Can you give your phone numbers or e-mail addresses to anyone you met for the first time??In my case, I can give them to someone who I must get along with for a long time...such as my later colleagues and some of my classmates...

no, never for the first time. but yes i have actually given my personal details to some ppl in here. We're were good mates bk then so i knew they weren't gonna betray me or sth. they were ppl i could really confide in. i have never regretted it. i'll keep on being cautious though.

I wouldnt do that,I only give my adress and telephone number to good friends.
I have 2 email accounts one is used for ppl i just met. i never give my # out unless we have become good friends
I must know them for a while and see that they can't harm.

I'd give an E-mail address that can be closed easily to someone I don't know. That way, if that person turns out to be an odd-ball, I can block the person's address or close the account. As far as the Internet goes, it takes a long time to gain my trust and respect. Not all people are what they seem.

Hi Quahog, nice to see you again.
Anyway back to the topic, I never give my email unless I have conversed with a person for some time, either on this website or another. Phone numbers is a no, no, unless I am absolutely sure this person is on the up an'up. Changing an email address or blocking is much easier than changing a phone number..

If they'd ask, I'd just give it. I don't see the problem? You can block both their number and email adress in case they're some kinda freak. So it's not big deal to me...

ohhh!it's new era!it's already 2007!soon 2008!so i give my e-mail more often
more safe i guess ![]()
It takes A LOT for me to trust people FULL STOP. So it would take something very special for me to hand out my phone number.
I don't give either out until i known a person long enough ... especially my phone number

not the first time, no. I do have a few penpals I've known for a while & we've exchanged addresses, emails (which I don't think is a big deal, it's not like you can't change it in a snap), and phone numbers.

I give my secound e-mail addres to ppl that I don't know and I try not to give away my phonenumber (because if the person is really annoying it's a little easier to avoid them on the internet instead of the phone)

I sometimes give it to strangers but only if there is really a necessity
No, except email if it's necessary to be sent something like an mp3 or something like that, and i've been aware of them on a website for a long time and i don't think they're an asshole.

i wouldn't give my phone numbers out at all, but would give my email addy to a person once i got to know them
Actually I don't have that much of a problem with giving my email-address...it's not even with my surname, so what?
However, I give my phone number only to people I do know or to someone who really needs to contact me...really needs.^^
Agree. But I am reluctant to give my phone number it is not because I am afraid of anything, I just hate receiving phone calls esp when I am moody

I wouldnt even bother giving it out straight away... cause then they could give it on to there friends ans sooo on then u would have this huge long list of people writing u or coming to visit lol
i wouldn't do that at all, if i don't know them or if i haven't known them enough, i wouldn't bother giving them my email address or phone number.

eh it depends on the situation. if i juz met someone for the first time but im gonna b workin with them then of course i wouldnt mind handing out my contacts. but other than that i dont normally give them out right away
i usually give out my mobile number to Close friends online after maybe like a year if we really talk alot the same with emails

Yes... I give them both my e-mail address and phone number... what I do is: I have two e-mail accounts... one for my closest friends and another one for the ones I have just met... and as for my number, I give them my cellphone number, they cannot find out my address having my cellphone number and I can use the chip in case I have a problem!
