I've seen these places on t.v., Wow. Fabulous, you have to be ultra rich to even THINK of visiting these places. It is amazing what they have done. Oh how I would love to be ultra rich too and go there and see everything. They have even poured concrete into the ocean to create a gigantic palm tree. The buildings are beautiful, I am very empressed.

Has anyone here seen those places? if so you are a lucky person.

You don't actually have to be super ritch to stay in these places, as alot of flights from Australia to Europe Stop over in Dubai. I was on one of these... and I'm really really not ritch at all, I worked hard and saved up to travel.

I was NOT impressed with dubai, but cities are not my thing anyway, I think it's discusting how we polute and all that.
But what I saw in Dubai.. well it was very Smoggy I suppose, but I hear this is rare and I was justunlucky.
What you see on the tv is not really the true Dubai, Alot of it is Shabby buildings ect.
They did have big shopping centres filled with excpensive stuff, and you saw alIot of Flash cars driving around, but it's really not all like the Tv shows it to be, Like any other place it has it's good and bad things.
Personally I wouldn't want to go there for any length of time, as Cities are not my thing, and there are much nicer cities I think.

I am glad you told me that. t.v. has a way of playing up a travel destination. I have travelling around the world with the military and have seen what you say. I can use my own country the U.S. as an example. You can see the glitter of Beverly Hills, CA and go to other places and see the guys living under the bridges in a cardboard box.

i cannot go to dubai, but what i am going to say is not sour grapes...the crown prince is building an island for 100,000 people which includes the tallest building on earth whom does he think is going to lease the space in that building, for what? the island is in constsant danger of erosion its barrier protection requires maintainance and massive dredging 24/7..in the event of a massive tide surge which happen in the gulf how will he evacuate 100,000 people along that impossibly narrow causeway..the man is demented..

You do not have to be ultra-rich to visit Dubai. There are more and more Vietnamese tourists visit this place. It has more to do with your purpose of visiting these cities than with how much money you have! hehehe

They are building a crazy world's tallest piece of steel and concrete there which is not a thing of my taste and interest!

I've never been, it's not somewhere that appeals to me; but who knows in the future?

These fake cities have never appealed to me to be honest. Beneath all the glammer lies a very poor population that the passing visitor never sees. They can build all the fancy hotels they want but they still constantly neglect their own people.
