Yes I have been in that situation...and what did I do?
Just tried to forget about it and told no-one...until a few years ago.

Now, I am very angry with myself for not doing anything at the time, but it cant be helped.

I have dealt with a lot victims in the many years that I spent as social worker. It is horrible to victimize someone.

There are all sorts of abusive situations.
But if I was 14 and in one..
honestly,
I would tell someone.
If I was 14 and knew someone else that was..
I also would tell someone.

The mind seeks and the spirit yearns.
But the heart knows what the heart knows.

Yes, i've been very close to a couple of people who were abused; one sexually and the other physically but not sexually. It's very hard to know what to do or say when these things have happened to people you love. My girlfriend was abused by her former partner. Needless to say, i kicked his ass. This was wrong as i disapprove of violence, but what's done is done, and i hate bullies. I'll always stick up for someone when i see them being bullied and abused.

I've two people fierce close to me who were badly abused their inner strength is
incredible, their a credit to indurance and courage

If I knew abuse was going on I'd do everything to stop it..permanately.

I was abused very badly by my mother sometimes. She would become violent and hit me hard, usually on the head. She also used to say a lot of cruel things repeatedly, such as, "I wish you'd never been born"....."You're a really horrible person"...."I'd like to get your head and smash it against the wall until it turns to pulp!"

Yeah....It was all so charming!

in my 1st month of high school in grade 9, a boy tried to attack me while i was by myself in a stairway reading. he was trying to touch me but i screamed and other students came to help, including a couple of my friends.

Limiter released! Rebellious teenager mode activated. Get the hell out of my way.

Not happy to say, but approx. 12 years ago the man I was living with tried to strangle and kill me, it was not the first time that I suffered physical abuse from him, but it was the last time. He pulled the phones out of the wall, so I couldn't call the police and broke down the bathroom door, (where I was hiding). I ran into the bedroom and he jumped me on the bed (he was 6'2" and weighed 200 lbs) he was so heavy on my chest and he had his hands around my throat, I remember saying to myself, Dear God I don't want to die yet!, thankfully I managed(or now I think it was the Good Lord) gave me the strength to lift myself up and I ran outside in the middle of the night, I had my cell phone with me in my pocket of my housecoat, and called 911. He was charged and went to jail.
