I'm in pain. Yesterday, when I was opnening a heavy door in my school, the door kinda hit my toes. It hurt so much that my stomach made summersaults. When I sat down to check them, two toes were blue. Really embarassing.

Anyways, I can't move them. Could they be broken, anyone? I don't know what to do. It hurts, though. A lot.

Does anyone have any advice about what I should do? If not, I could always use some compassion Smile

See a doctor.

I would go to the emergency room at your local hospital. You need an x ray if you can't move them.
Can't move and a lot of pain generally means broken.
Don't be embarrassed, it just bad luck.

I've been trying to avoid seeing a doctor, but you're probably right ;_; I should.

Yes you should honey!
But probably skip the doctor as they cannot do much without an x ray....head straight for A&E / The Emergency Room, or whatever it is called.

Okay. Yeah, sounds smart.

Well, then, there's no reason to wait. I should head out as soon as I can... Wish me luck? ;_;

Dislocation or just a really bad bad bruise unlikely fracture or crack

need more details broken bones usually give you a little dizzy feeling and dislocations you can't move them well and you're muscles in the area hurt when you try to move them, heavy bruise hurts a little when um moved and when touched hurts alot due to different pain thresholds its hard to say with little detail but depends on pain level and but go to a doc.......

Details needed:
Sweeting when first hurt?
Dizzy Spells?
Amount of spread bruising and colour?
When Touched?
Pain Continue-ation?
Movement level?
Looks, mis-shaped, etc?

I still don't get why people post on an internet forum about this kind of thing. Broken /fractured toes are supposed to be one of the hardest to diagnose. If it's not obviously displaced, alot of the time there's no point having an xray anyway, as it doesn't really matter if it's fractured or not, the treatment is the same... (From my experience anyway)
Also.. If there's lots of bruising, there'll also be swelling which is probably why you can't move it!
I've broken quite a few bones, Often havn't had any symptoms except pain, and swelling later.

ER Is the best place to go anyways, Depending where you are though, you might have a long wait, but if you complain alot, you'll get in faster Wink
From my experience, if you don't look like in pain, they won't take you very seriously if there's wimps whining about a whole lot of nothing!

Take a book or something!

You better see a doctor to be sure.

femaleSorry_Huge_Ego | 19 January 2008 - 8:55pm

Yeah, thanks guys Razz

I was unsure of what to do, since everyone keeps telling me -at home- that no one can really do anything about it, even if I see a doctor, or whatever. I'm sure it'll heal faster if I just let it be, and if not, I'll find out pretty soon. If the pain increases, I'll pay someone a visit.

Maybe I'm just being silly 'cause I've never hurt something this bad before. I think.

Uh, anyway. Thanks Smile

The very first thing you should have done was to wrap them in ice somehow, then see the Accident and Emergency department.

If you need medical advice, just go and see your doctor! You can find a lot of general info on the net, but nothing for you specific case.
