I like Gaelic music.

I'd say the whole Celtic family of languages is really interesting. Gaelic would indeed make a wonderful subject of study, and I just wish I had more spare time.

My father is fluent. (Scottish) I only know the most common phrases, usually the ones to get you out of a tough situation...Smile Would love to learn more, but who would I talk to? It's not a language that came over to a lot of people in Canada. Many years ago it was quite wide spread in Cape Breton and many parts of Nova Scotia, unfortunately the younger generations just let it slide. A very beautiful language though, expecially in song.

Dia dhuit! ^^

I had the chance to learn some Irish Gaelic in the University of Limerick (Ireland). I really love the sound of it. You should learn it if you have the chance, it's a bit difficult at first, but then it's alright!

I lived in Glasgow for 5 months but don't think I ever heard it. Instead I got to read it a couple of times and it seemed quite interesting... and difficult! The only word I ever learned was 'sgudal' and that's not for any use. It was on a rubbish can. But if I ever start a conversation about rubbish then maybe it'll be useful in some way... Very happy

I plan to take a Gaelic course during my stay in Ireland & I´m really looking forward to it (even though I doubt that I´ll learn a lot in only one semester...). But maybe I´ll meet someone who´s fluent and helps me (I don´t know if chances are high).
