I guess the most common prejudice among where i grew up would be they look dumb-blonde,have bear guts,the German women are extremely beautiful when young but extremely ugly when old and (even though i'd hate to say that), they're all nazis.

often I hear in foreign countries (and even on mf) that all germans are nazi. another prejudice is that we are hard-working, accurate and punctual.

If the primates that we came from had known that someday politicians would come out of the gene pool, they'd stayed up in the trees and written evolution off as a bad idea.

Another prejudice is that Germans have no sense of humour.

Well, the most commonly known German sentence here is "Ich habe Sauerkraut in meiner Lederhose". That pretty much says it all.

People here know all about the Nazi streotype but they are bored of it; they know it is stupidity. Very few actually believe Germans are Nazis or even that they have such tendencies.

Here I think when people hear "Germany" they think of castles, beer and pretzels. Oh yeah, probably they think Germans are all punctual, which is the opposite of us--we are late for everything. (I don't mean that is the stereotype of us; we really are late for everything.)

But i think Lederhosen and Sauerkraut, thats not in all-Germany. Thats especially in Bavaria and even there noone wears Lederhosen in allday life!
About the nazi-thing: Thats just our past. Of course here are some right-orientated people, but there are in every country!
And of course its not true that German girls are prettyer than others!!!

About punctual: I compare with countries I already have been. And there i saw that its not that bad if you are some minutes to late. In Germany, if you have an officially meeting, you should take care that you are really punctual. If its more private, 5-10 minutes are ok...
Here many are blond. But there are black-haired as well. I guess in more northern countries there are mor blonds...

that nearly sounds as if half of germany is blond. *G* ok, we have a lot of blond people, but especially the girls/women often colour their hair to blond. most people here aren't blond by nature.

we have some really great comedians (some of them with their own series), we "support" modern talking, daniel kübelböck and tokyo hotel and we elected a real ugly locking woman to represent our country. xD

Most of what I've read so far on this topic are NOT prejudices. They ARE stereotypes. Personally I cannot fault German people. They are no worse or no better than any other country in the civilised world. It's a beautiful country in it's own right and the people are just cool.

its different from person to person, and in this case, even from region to region! For example i live in the black forest, were people are really very relieable! But in other parts of Germany its different...
hmm maybe in average we are more relieable...

Germans are fat, have a big mouth and dig big holes in our beaches. On the other hand they are also accurate and technically skilled.
