is it usefull to meet and to know friend in the web??
i don't know but i hope a day to know them but the years are passing and to spend time so it become to be no usefull too

Useful? Useful for what purposes? Lot's of fun yes and I've learned a lot about other people and specially about myself - well in that sense it has been even useful. All the same, I've been enjoying myself in more levels than one. Nowadays I've got two different "lives": the internet life and the real life. 
I think when we are making friends on the web, we need to realize certain things and play by the rules. I hope you know what I mean...

unfortunatly many people don't rweally understant what they want from the penpal website. they love shoping, listen to music and blab-blab-blab i think it is nod good reason to comunicate, it is not truly interest.

A topic about online friendship is not only of italian, but of general interest. As such, it fits better in the Family & Friends Channel.
I wouldnt say its useful ... unless of course u are looking to travel around the world and hopefully make many friends which u could maybe stay with on your travels...
For me to make friends on the web is fun and interesting and if u get to meet them for real then thats a bonus

It could be useful to know people for example when you want to learn a language or want specific information about a country. Meeting them would only have a purpose if you go to his/her country and need a guide.

I am serious with making friends be it online or in real life. However, I would prefer to meet someone lives close to me, or close enough, so that we could meet in a coffee shop, for example. I used to make some friends like that when I was a member of a local net here. We had lots of fun meeting every Sunday morning. Having said this, I would not mind a friend in Singapore, Thailand, China... that one day we can meet when I go there or he/she comes here.
So for me, it is not useful but helpful when we can talk (online) and share opinions...
