Flemish schools too popular
People waiting in line for a week to subscribe their kid in a Flemish school in Brussels. How can that be?
The Flemish education in brussels is very popular, also among french speakers and foreigners. Apparently, some 40% of all kids in Brussels attend a Dutch speaking school, while (unofficial) estimations of the Dutch speakers in the city never go over 20%. Dutch speakers can subscribe sooner than other, new rules like attending Dutch speaking kindergarted before going to Flemish school don't seem to solve the problem. Sio where do all those Frenchies come from? How to solve the problem? What's your thoughts?

the french education is good too...
There are also line of parents in Wallonie
But this law made by Marie Arena is really bad (like anyone of her decisions) ![]()

I think the quality of our (= flemish) education is the main reason why so many people in Brussels want to subscribe their children in a flemish school. Flemish education is amongst the best in Europe, while that in Wallonia is only mediocre. I guess the language education also plays part in it.
I think that the best way to solve the problem, is to turn some of the Walloon schools to Flemish schools.
Since they are going to our schools, they don't need that many schools themselves anymore.
