I'll support anything that brings peace in the world, but will there ever be real peace between the catholics and the protestants?

I have always supported a united Ireland. The British government have a lot to answer for by not handing back what is clearly not theirs in the first place.

Bit more complicated than the British Government not doing the "moral thing".

Define Irish Cause...does that mean putting money in a hat in a Irish bar?

malemaranello | 9 March 2008 - 12:36pm

To answer another question can Catholics and Protestants live side by side in peace if there was a united Ireland? Yes, absolutely. There is no reason why any differing group of people regardless of religion, colour, nationality etc...can live peacefully together. The world is only as peaceful as you want it to be and it all starts in the mind.

Try putting Hindu's and Muslims together in the same street and see what happens.

Hindu's and Muslims can and do live on the same street. If they can live peacefully on one street they can live the same the world over.

Support for a united Ireland? What an odd question. Is there really any viable alternative? Throughout history, any time an occupying force has taken a bite out of a nation, it's only a matter of time before the occupying force has to leave...sometimes voluntarily and other times not. It won't be easy to rejoin the six to the twenty-six for complex reasons...economically as well as socially but it prods and taigs aren't part of that complexity. They live in peace in the south and religion just isn't the issue. It makes sense to join the counties and I have faith and trust in SF that we shall see it 2021.

breton do, of course ! sure ! the thing what is funny in his last european colony still alive ( I mean ulster of course ) is that the political situation of scottish "traitor" in nothern ( remember that many british colon were actually ancient landless scottish defeated and deportee by their english master on Irland in oder to grow up crown british citizen on island !) english used celt again celt and finaly officialy present their own colony as a religious conflict ! so these recipe ( as french colonist system) was export in the majore british empire !
But as I said before, the world change and now, unemployed english migrate to Irland and the priviligiate status of english colonist against bad condition of nothern irish become more and more intolerable for great britain's international reputation ! that's what had motived mister Blair action I suppose.
