England is not small, you must say how long you are planning on spending there, travel alone or with company, ... and your will to spend (budget or luxurious etc... )
The last thing I heard of England (London) was that one needed at least (or around?) 40-50 Euro for a budget hotel per night; someone from England or those who have been there may want to help clarify this.

You expect rain and you get warm weather.

If you'll visit London, get a gasmask, that city is so polluted that youll most likely die in cancer if you dont protect yourself.

Definitely have either a raincoat or an umbrella.
If you are coming from the USA, it will defintiely be expensive, because of the exchange rate. But, it is totally worth it. The TUBE is a good way of transportation, but it is often very crowded and just make sure you give PLENTY of time for travel.
