Tick bites & Lyme Disease
Does anyone or the Vets know something about this disease and how it affects humans or animals?
I live in South Africa and had tick fever as a kid. Almost each year at the same time I experience some kind of mysterious servere faitigue (not from partying!) and I get quite pale. Apparently Lyme Disease affects the liver and I really don't want to make something of nothing, but am very curious about this.
From the Internet I copied the following:
Lyme disease is an infection caused by the bacterium Borrelia burgdorferi. This bacterium is usually found in animals such as mice and deer. Ixodes ticks can pick up the bacteria when they bite an infected animal, then transmit it to a person, which can lead to Lyme disease.
The majority of reported Lyme disease cases occur in the Northeast, upper Midwest, and Pacific coastal areas of the United States
Some cases of Lyme disease have also been reported in Asia, Europe, and parts of Canada
Any cases reported in South Africa as in yet?

I have Lyme disease and I don't get faitigue. What will happen later on in life you will mostly be in a wheelchair and every once in a while your joints hurt, but if it caught early then you can get rid of it.
