As a steak, ok, as alive, don't like!

I love horses, they are such a magnificent creature to paint..(on canvas). It is no wonder they are portrayed in many classic stories and fairytails. There is something spiritual about its character especially when it is galloping. Sense of freedom and strength I suppose. Wink

Same here, I'm more of a cute and fluffy small creature kind of girl but horses are beautiful, so strong and defined. I'm just intimidated by their size and strength.

I saw this subject co-incidentally after watching a DVD "Touching Wild Horses" last night.

Horses are magnificent creatures. Talking about wars in the olden days, one tends to forget how brave they have been, more often than not protecting their riders from the onslaught of the enemy
and getting killed.

Honestly, i think they're beautiful and graceful animals. I went horse riding when i was a kid; i stopped when i was about 10 and i wouldn't own one as they're a bit large and take up a lot of room. Laughing But they're awesome animals.

I have a horse, and I love him to death. I've been around horses all my life, and haven't hated a single moment.
I remember a few years ago, when my horse (Monty) tried to "protect" me from a monster.
I was on a trail ride and it was a rather windy day. I went despite knowing it probably wasn't the best idea. We were in a forest, and I started to head him down the hill. He refused to move, so I asked him a few times, but he refused to go and started to back up. So I turned him around and started heading back. As he turned, his rear brushed against a bush with brittle leaves and he leaped. I fell, still holding onto the reigns. When I got up I calmed him down and started heading towards the bush to show him there was nothing there. He cut me off, standing in front of me, and pushed me back roughly. I told him it was just a bush, and tried to show him again, but he kept pushing me back. It happened two or three times before I gave up and started to lead him away. He pretty much started to drag me, and kept staring at me with wide eyes and then looking back at the bush.
So I was never in any real danger, but he thought I was and he put himself between me and the "monster". I feel safe around him, even though he can be a bit of an ass. He's always looking out for me in some way, and he's got a killer personality (he acts like a tough guy, but he's got a good heart, even though he hates to show it).

Love horses, and I love riding. I was a horse groom for the trotters when I was 17 and I really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of good riding stables around here where I live. The horses in the United States are beautiful, they really love their horse there.
