Are you good enough for God?

By God's standards, are you a good person? Are you fit for the kingdom of God?

Each and every person in the world without any exception at all (including Hitler, Stalin, Mao and Alexander the Great) are perfect by God's standards. God standard is that each and every person is perfect and complete. How can God ever create something that is imperfect? How can God ever reject, punish or condemn his own creation? If God rejects anyone she would be rejecting herself for she and her creation are one. If God is love than she can only create beings whose reality is love.
Every person is fit for the kingdom of God. Even Hitler went to heaven. How can Hitler or anyone do anything that is against God or not in God's plan? That would mean he is more powerful than God.
God's perfect plan is that every human being experience the kingdom of heaven in the here and now. Every person expresses his true nature which is love and every person will realize that God's standards and his standards are exactly the same.

I don't believe in a Kingdom of God. But all in all, I think I am a good person Smile
I rarely say curse words, I never swear against any God or Saint or whoever (it's a simple matter of respect: you're not allowed to disrespect a God or a religion just for a different belief!), I never killed anyone (except some nasty insects), I never stole anything (except a pen that I borrowed and unknowingly put in my bag, and, as a child, a tin opener in a supermarket. When I got to the counter I told the lady "I have to pay this thing I just stole!"), I am not envious nor greedy...maybe I'm not good for the Kingdom of God but I sure am a pleasant person Very happy

Well, my question is... why should I want to enter the kingdom of god? What hinders me from creating my own kingdom? If I'd be forced to enter his kingdom, this would be official dictatorship which is totally unacceptable for me.

I demand elections!

The economic anarchy of capitalist society as it exists today is, in my opinion, the real source of the evil. We see before us a huge community of producers the members of which are unceasingly striving to deprive each other of the fruits of their collective labour. I am convinced there is only one way to eliminate these grave evils, namely through the establishment of a socialist economy, accompanied by an educational system which would be oriented toward social goals.

maleGrayWolf | 23 March 2008 - 12:45pm

For me a better question would be "Is the kingdom of God good enough for me?" so far NO

Well..as far as I can see...we are putting standards onto him of which I am unconvinced are of of his making... rather than of a human calculation.
From what I see...it's people's own standards that they put on themselves...
which are the hardest to overcome.

Normal functioning humans (I'm excluding the sociopathic personality and other mental disorders) seem to have the hardest time living up to their own high standards.
But God's a good culprit to blame or to use for discounting.

O My Lord,
My sins are like
The highest mountain;
My good deeds
Are very few
They’re like a small pebble.
I turn to You
My heart full of shame,
My eyes full of tears.
Bestow Your
Forgiveness and Mercy
Upon me.

If the question is referring to the God of the Bible, many people think you have to be good....... or good enough. Nothing could be further from the truth. The Bible clearly teaches that you can't earn heaven by being good. Eternal life is a free gift. The bible says that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. GOOD ENOUGH??? It's not about being good.

maleONE | 30 March 2008 - 10:46pm

:longload:
Eternal life is NOT a free gift because it comes with a condition: You have to believe in Jesus and that he ressurrected. Free gifts are never given with any conditions. Have you ever given a gift to someone and told him: I will give you this gift if you will confess with your mouth that I was born with 32 teeth and long hair Smile.
How can I confess Jesus is Lord when I do not even know him? I have to put a blind faith that he really is Lord while I am not the Lord of my own life. How can I believe that he ressurrected? I was not there and did not witness it personally, so again it is just a blind faith that it actually happened. Again, how do I know that I am not saved or need salvation? I have to believe that I am a sinner and not saved. Why should I believe in such nonsense just to make somebody great and lower myself? Why should I think of myself in such low terms just because some bible says so? It is always more important what a person thinks of himself and his abilities and not humiliate himself just because some old and stale scripture declares it.
Eternal Life should never ever be a gift. It should be something that is the right of every human being.

@One... Yes!! Because the Bible tells me so!! I choose to believe it as do many others. Its a choice for you too. You don't have to believe or accept the gift. (And there is no need to ridicule people for thier choice)

You can take it as a ridicule or you can take it as a something to think about and ponder on. I am just showing some other aspects or sides so that you can choose to think about it, perhaps this point may not have occured to you.
If you are opened minded and can think out of the box then at least take a few moments to ponder on it instead of rejecting it completely.

It's like...baking a batch of cookies that calls for 4 eggs. the first three eggs are good, but when you crack the last one into the bowl, you realize it's rotten, smelly and disgusting. Hoping the rest of the flavors will drown it out, you mix it in with the rest of the ingredients anyway, bake the cookies and serve them to your friends. Obviously, the rest of the flavors will not cover up the taste of the rotten egg and everyone will gag on their first bite.

Moral of the story: always crack your eggs in a separate bowl first...

But more importantly, all of the other cookie ingredients are like my good works while that one egg is like my sin. Because God demands PERFECTION ("Be perfect, therefor, as your Heavenly Father is perfect"), any sin I commit, even if it's just one, seemingly meaningless rotten egg, is enough to keep me out of Heaven. [lucky for me Jesus died to bridge that gap].

so, like longload said: Am I good enough? NO WAY!!

femaleAcOrEaNa83 | 15 April 2008 - 11:57pm

I surely hope I'm good enough Smile But then there's always room for improvement!

God loves you and accepts you however you are. He even wants to see the ugly part of you. God came down to earth to help the ones who needed help and gave his life for all of us. I think everyone is 'fit' to enter the Kingdon of God, it's just as long as you want to.

I myself am not a full Catholic follower, but since this is a "religion" channel and someone wants to post a link that might back up the opinion they just expressed, so be it. It is allowed on all the other channels, why not this one. No one is forcing you to click it. It is your choice. Choice, isn't this what religion is all about?
