What do I have to do:

I have seeds of olive trees and Redwood Trees. I tried several times to bring something up but nothing worked. What do I have to do to get them growing?!

You must make a controlled atmosphere for both .The redwood is native mostly to northern california..To propgate olive trees these days we take a cutting, dip it generously in rooting hormone, and have patience..If you want to know how to grow an olive tree in your part of europe, observe how others are doing it..

Perhaps you could start with something simple, like cress or sunflowers or something?

Stick in some mud then add sunlight & water & CO2

I agree with Pietro...I'm a member of the Missouri Botanical Gardens..and get seeds & seedlings every spring (they have sales then). I've had successes, I have a mango "tree"-it's only 3ft tall still & I've been growing it for 8 years now...I planned to bonsai it..but decided not to, though I control how big it gets by repotting & cutting back roots..it even had one single fruit a year ago..though it does flower every year. Anyhoo, I've also got a few other plants I've grown from seed or nut. It's still touch & go, though..I start out with several & only have one grow successfully. I have a set up in the basement, my greenhouse, with grow lights, etc..my outside greenhouse got damaged by a tornado a couple of years ago & I've not had it fixed yet. Sad

I've seen redwood kits at the Garden but never got tempted to get them, I just don't have the commitment to "baby" it that much. Those two are pretty high maintenance to take care of, especially from seeds/seedlings. A lot of people have the mistake of overwatering..and don't realize that's the major cause of "drowning" the seeds.

There's a site I belong to..people are really helpful, there's some professional gardeners, as well as some who aren't but are enthusiastic (and most times, just as knowledgeable!)..

Good luck, and please keep us posted!

Here is a total failure story to give you confidence..For 20 years i tried to grow a tree called ficus bengali..Its a fabulouse tree, huge and very distinctive due to the fact that it sends down thingies from its lower branches and they take root..I first came upon it in a kibbutz in the bet shean valley..when i met them the 7 trees were already over 100 yrs old,a gift from india..Trees, like the olive you mentioned, need the right climate and soil..I have 20 hothouses and i am considered to be an expert at seeding and rooting..My advice is this ,if you are a beginner go for what works in your area and ficus bengali probably won't..After 20 years of constant failure i gave it up.
