I am 50/50 over this question. Yes ignorance is bliss, but an even slightly enquiring mind will soon become bored with bliss and ignorance.

How does one know when one is experiencing bliss?

I think it should be "Innocence is bliss".

Hardly. Being ignorant more often than not means being unaware of one's own ignorance, which is the epitome of vicious circle. It is lack of alternatives, lack of freedom of action, the antithesis yet illusion of bliss. On the other hand, possessing knowledge doesn't necessarily mean being able to handle it. Sometimes knowledge can be painful, leading some of the people who possess it to believe that ignorance would be bliss, but that's simply because they can't stand the weight of knowledge.
