Standards are slipping... see dimwits.com for details.
I've noticed an increasing trend of people making a topic about a link to another site. No link... no topic. ie the link is the topic.
Not too long ago the powers that be decreed it was illegal, immoral and would result in your children being sent to hell if you posted links to other websites, but it seems to be now that more and more links are being posted by making topics about them. And they aren't links to anything I want to visit anyway... I mean these people complaining about this stuff they find on the web is fine... but why do they then need to post links to it for everyone else to go and have a look?
Normally... If wanted to view Youtube videos I'd go to Youtube, if I want to look at a website set up by a nasty fuck wanting to kill all fat people I'd visit their website, if I wanted to find me some hardass porn I'd check out disney. But if this posting of links that are a story unto themselves continues we might as well turn Mailfriends into a one stop shop for all your Internet needs. Get rid of the forums... let's just have a page full of links.... like at dimwits.com.

Ah yes, where are the days where I got cursed and told I was being a naughty girl for mentionning another website *melancholic sigh*.

Surely people use the links as part of their discussion?
Surely people use the links as part of their discussion?
I hope the people here are just playing dumb... cuz if they really are this stupid then... well... actually when I think about it they probably are that stupid, cuz it then explains why this phenomenon is happening.
I'm not talking about links people insert into a discussion to provide further information... I'm talking about links that are the information unto themselves and the topic is little more that a place to discuss the link.
Various topics about things on YouTube is a classic example. Topics that require you to visit the link before having a discussion. It's like these incredibly annoying people who hassle you to see the latest thing they've downloaded onto their phone... the sort of person who ends up with their phone inserted into their nearest orifice.
What is the official word today on creating links? Cuz really I want people to visit a bunch of websites so I'm assuming it's okay for me to make topics that ask for people to visit these sites then come back here for a discussion, because after all... that's what's happening today.
Hmmm I hear there is a bit of a kerfuffle at playboy.com. Better make a topic so people can visit and see for themselves. Or maybe place a link to facebook for people to view the latest bitchslap, then they discuss it here... Or how about links to a thousand and one other sites that have something more interesting than what's happening on Mailfriends at the moment.
Has Mailfriends become so boring we need to bring entertainment in from outside?
Apparently. I mean; yesterday morning i checked the site and this topic was on the top of the 'recent topics' or whatever it's called on the homepage. 24h later; it's still on the homepage somewhere in the middle of the list. I bet tonight it will still be on the homepage.
No-one seems to write new topics anymore

And last week or something i had created a fun topic in the fun channel. You had to quote someone from mailfriends and then others had to guess who the quote was from. I decided to start easy and took a quote from Jen. I mean; it was rather obvious it was Jen's if you thought about it for a few seconds. Can you believe no-one even tried guessing? *sigh*

Say wiseguy,
There is no dimwits.com.
