Trichotillomania (hair pulling disorder)

Many children and especially adolesents have displayed these tendencies. Their excuses trying to look like perfection, school stress, my mom used to do it.. Many children do this to cover up any issues that are concerning them. Have you encountered anyone like this?
One of my daughter's best friends had this condition and the amount of ridicule from other students can be so overwhelming...(name calling etc)
This is very closely related to the cutting disorder...and there is so much help out there to counteract these tendencies.

There IS help, but sad to say many people with this problem are too embarrassed to acknowledge the problem to others.
