How would you describe the meaning of this word? What picture does this word create in your mind?

Hello:
our destiny never written any where, our destiny is in our hand, we can change it every time we want, of course if we want, our destiny is based on the way of our thinking. so a better destiny is only with a better way of thinking not with money, etc.

Destiny, fate ,kismet, these are defeatisms which can be overcome by strength of purpose..To say ,i am fated to be this, that, or the other,is loser talk,it is an excuse for not trying harder..Its like saying ,if god wills it!he is not going to will it,he is not in to spoon feeding..

We r just prisoners on this world. When u break ur walls u r free.If u can escape from this prison u can see ur freedom and onelessness.

Don't you people have dictionaries?

The economic anarchy of capitalist society as it exists today is, in my opinion, the real source of the evil. We see before us a huge community of producers the members of which are unceasingly striving to deprive each other of the fruits of their collective labour. I am convinced there is only one way to eliminate these grave evils, namely through the establishment of a socialist economy, accompanied by an educational system which would be oriented toward social goals.

yes you skungie nothings..dictionaries are our way of reinforcing what you might want to be""us""

femaleLeaa | 24 April 2008 - 6:29pm

Not many dictionaries have descriptive pictures. Every time I think of destiny, it reminds me of a sunset, a conclusion to a day. I guess it would seem like a final plan fulfilled. The way it's suppose to end.

When you say destiny i inmediately think of a foggy green plain around 13 - 14 hrs. Dont ask me why! Smile

i don't really like the word "Destiny", it presupposes that we are not entirely in control of our own lives, it allow us to be irresponsible (it may not have been right but it was my destiny!!!!!). i think we need to create our own lives and live them how we see fit, then the only blame for not being able to achieve what we want, will rest comfortably at our own feet.

maleONE | 29 April 2008 - 8:12am

Destiny does not exist. We create our destiny according to the way we live. Depending on how we live our life -- consciously or unconsciously, this will determine what will be our experiences in life.

nope, no such thing as destiny... it is a false hope for people who are too lazy to make their lives what they want it to be.

too hard question.
and we will never find out the truth about destiny Wink
you can believe that you are only a marionette and to go down stream-sometimes it`s better, but i`m convinced that destiny is favourable to person who prefers to go in spite of her and who tries to make his life better.

It creates the picture of something predetermined, which I don't believe in.

That certainly is the bottom line for me as well.
However, there is also the fatalistic thrill to it that our more emotional side sometimes likes to give into, when in gloomy hours we pity ourselves. It is more like a poetic concept then though.

i think this is what you cannot avoid. It probably has the dark and bright side, but i always try to think the bright side happens to me, like everybody do.

There's a rumour goin about that Celtic won the league because Tommy Burns died.
I dinna belive that they won it because the Celtic never quit tryin.
How can you change destiny?
If Hitler had won WW2, we'd all be speakin German?
I dinna think that's true.
