:-) Did you know it?
Happy 25th Anniversary to the ubiquitous Smiley that we have come to love so much…
25 years ago, on September 19th, 1982, Scott Fahlman, a professor from Carnegie Melon University, invented the sideways smiley face :-) which is sometimes also called Emoticon!
Although the graphical yellow smiley face was invented by Harvey Ball in 1964.....Can we even believe how life would have been without the colon-hyphen- parenthesis combination ? :-)
It makes the conversation a bit light hearted, doesn’t it?
Do you use smileys in your emails? or you refrain from using too many, but do use a few? or you are the kind who has come to hate so many of these emoticons? how you use them, and if you don’t then why don’t you use them?

I like using smileys
the more, the marrier
ok, if the message board has those huge yellow ones I try not to use them after every sentence, but in everyday messenger talk I use lots of them
they just replace the missing face expression part in the conversation... not completely ofcourse, but still... and again, they absolutely shouldn't be too big or too flashy ![]()
smileys help us don`t keep conversation too serious which is harmful for health
Excessive seriousness in everything is harmful i think ![]()
My fav smile here is

Well, congrats to the smiley!
I only use a few every now and then, otherwise it gets difficult to read the message.
