Question for german girls
Well.. Sometimes I think that German peoples are a bit cold, that they are spontaneus only when they are drunk, that they consider themself superior etc. I experienced some difficulties to engage a relationship with german girls because of those thoughts. Of all, I am wondering why they are so 'warned' about foreigners..My father told me that,in his opinion, germans are racist, they consider us 'Italiani macaroni' so I think that the girl I like and to whom I exchange letters from years is not sure to meet me for that reason. What do you think about italian boys (if you know some)? Do you like them?

Well, Giovanni
many Germans thought, when I was a child (in the 70ties), Italians call us Germans Kartoffeln (potatoes). I´m from the Ruhr Area, a region of Germany where a lot of Italians live. By the way. I went to school with them.
Germans are not colder or warmer than other human beings, they just express themselves (depending on a fellow national mentality trait) differently from other nations. Italians are from many other Europeans seen as "hot tempered" which can be as unnerving as the maybe too reserved mentality of the Germans of course.
I have no idea of "Italian men" in general. I simply do not know them all, as I do not know all German men . You see what I mean?
From my point of view we human beings use to see the FEW differences in each other because the similarities are overwhelming HUGE!
People use to recognize the differences, not the similarities. This often results in troubles and conflicts but are essentials to find life interesting. If we were all alike life would be boring and humanity would die out.
Best regards.
Christiane

What exactly did you expect by asking such a question? And why only the "girls"? Do you think German men cannot tell you about Germans?

It isn't a matter of German or Italian - it depends on the person you are.
You have the prejudice that every German girl have prejudices against Italians. A vicious circle. I can't hear anymore that Germans are racists. That's the most stupid declaration after "Germans are all Nazis".
Ask her and not us.
Investigate your own and her manners.
People not nationality!
People not nationality!
People are influenced by their environment and socio-cultural background.

Sure. Are you a German girl?
Tschüssi.

that is true. but italian and german culture are the same (or very very very similar) but the character of each single person is different.

i want to be honest because i don't want to use those typical german double moral hypocrite standards.
yes, i am 'warned' about foreign men. my parents spent their youth in the 60s, when a lot of guest workers came to germany. some of them (also turks) tried to get girls into bed and talked bad about german women, like they were whores. the following decades my father worked with some italian men and they told him things like "german women are good matresses, nothing more".
i know that these men are from another generation and where possibly raised differently in their catholic towns in southern italy, but to me this is no appologize for what they said.
it makes me sad to know that foreign men (not only italians) think german women are racist if they don't want to get in closer contact and then think they're sluts if they give what the men want.
i really hope the italian men of my generation don't think the same way. ![]()
but what i'm wondering about: why are you looking for a german girl? wouldn't it be hard to have someone so far away?
I still wonder why just women were asked this question. I wonder about bergio´s intentions.

personally, i dont think ethnicity or race has anything to do with it. i know that there are stereotypes in pretty much every country, but not everyone is part of that stereotype. as for german girls being that way, it is true a lot of the time but it depends on the person. when i went to germany i met very nice german girls and they were just ordinary like me.
as for you being italian, i dont think theres anything wrong with that. i live in america and we're practically raised to appreciate all cultures and ethnicities. personally, i like italian men because they are charming and romantic. again, the stereotypes come in - i know not every italian is that way. but if someone is going to turn you down because of your ethnicity then are they really worth worrying over?

I think there is no need to open one more topic to ask Germans about if ''Alemania'' comes from ''ale'' as far as i know Germans drinking ales is very famous all around the world. I've heard about beer fests in Bavaria in colorful clothes.

I excuse if I offended someone. I did not mean that all the germans are drunk peoples. Anyway, I had no success with that girl

Well, my dear,
it just seems like you’re thinking that all German girls are quite the same, but they are not! For sure there are some that are some kind of cold and not spontaneus and there are also some that are stupid racists for sure. But I think these aren’t the girls that you get to know, because these girls are living in their own poor little world.
In Germany we think that the people’s characters depend very much from where in Germany they’re from. So about the people from the northern parts of Germany it’s said that they’re some kind of coulder than the people from the southern parts. And the people from the western parts seem to be stricter than the ones from the eastern parts.
At all people from huge cities seem to be more tolerant while people from villages and small cities seem to more affectionate.
I’m for e.g. from Saxony, Germany, which is situated in the eastern parts. It’s often said that here racism is a real big problem – but I don’t know anybody who’s racist at all! It’s also said that the girl’s from Saxony are more beautiful and heartily than others – well, I hope that’s true...
No matter what: You have to get to know each single girl, before building an opinion about here, because at all each German girl no matter where she’s from is able to be lovely if she wants, I think.
So all the best for you!
