Arabs for Israel

Who Are We?

We are Arabs and Moslems who believe:

We can support Israel and still support the Palestinian people. Supporting one does not cancel support for the other.

We can support the State of Israel and the Jewish religion and still treasure our Arab and Islamic culture.

Israel is a legitimate state that is not a threat but an asset in the Middle East.

Palestinians have several options but are deprived from exercising them because of their leadership, the Arab League and surrounding Arab and Moslem countries who have other goals besides seeing Palestinians live in harmony with Israel.

It will benefit Arabs to end the boycott of Israel.

We can resolve our conflicts using non-violent means. Sending our young people on suicide/homicide missions as a form of Jihad is a distortion of Islam. We can do better.

We are appalled by the horrific act of terror against the USA on 9/11/2001.

It will be better for Arabs when the Arab media ends the incitement and misinformation that result in Arab street rage and violence. We support the Arab media providing coverage of ways that people of all religions are and can live together in harmony.

We believe in freedom to choose or change one’s Religion.

We cherish and acknowledge the beauty and contributions of the Middle East culture, but recognize that the Arab/Moslem world is in desperate need of constructive self-criticism and reform.

We seek dialogue with Israel. We invite you to join us on a path of love.

See the site for the other elements of "We are..." as well as "We are not:"

Who here has experience with this site and or Arabs/Muslims who support Israel? Do you agree with it? What can you add to this site's mission? If you were to have constructive criticism or intellectually honest questions, what would they be? If you respectfully disagree, why? More specifically, if you disagree, have you read the book _Now They Call Me Infidel_? (The author is the site's owner)

And perhaps most important, if you disagree with the message and have not read the book, would you consider reading it to see what she has to say? If not, why?

If you have read the book what are your thoughts?

As an israeli i probably wont have much credence as regards this post but i just got off the phone with my friend Abu Amir he is rejoicing independence day HIS and mine..About 20 years ago i said to him isma y'abu amir what is israel to you??he laughed and said Bietro(they can't pronounce P )we look over the borders, you bietro see an implacable enemy,i see dictators, poverty degredation.BIET!!ma??(what)Sammy has been accepted to ein karem med school and whats more yesterday fatma passed her driving test (girls aren't allowed to drive in arab countries)..A month ago a war hero died in an ambush BOTH his wives receive a full military pension..Thats just another reason why israeli arabs prefer to be israeli and put their lives on the line for it like the rest of us..Look over the border and rejoice that you are not THERE..

I found this website a while ago by pure hazard. The existence of Arabs who're favorable to Israel wasn't surprising. Mossad hired a lot of Arab traitors in its ranks. The posts from the two communities are very touching and very emotive and those people should be praised for overcoming so many negative thoughts, stereotypes, fears...etc. It could only bring positive things to our world.

I don't agree with the author's unobjective views though, the Israeli war crimes are unjustified and we can't stay silent under ANY circumstances.

Sure we can overcome our conflicts, adversity and rivalry and sit together in the table, I have absolutely no objections but the others have to show the same good will and share our same desire for peace.

I started realizing that Israelis don't want peace and never wanted it. At least those who take the decisions. Continuous war seems to be their only way to maintain a certain dynamism in the country. To get a sacred union from all the Jewish community around the world the state of Israel needs to be under constant threat. They fear peace much more than war.
Continuity of hostilities ==> The current status, it ok.
Peace ==> Mysterious and uncertain future.

That's my opinion and I hope that I am wrong. Smile

Now if I speak more specifically about my country, from a pure pragmatical view we have much more interest in making peace with Israel. Unlike the middle east countries we have strictly nothing to earn by supporting the Palestinian cause so no one could doubt about our sincerity. We interfered and sided together with our brothers Egyptians. The Israelis were beaten and we recovered Sinai. But those were the good old days...The geopolitical situation changed GREATELY. Our world is much more complicated now. I don't see how a boycott of Israel helps Palestinians, logic says that we could help them much more if we had diplomatic relationships with Israel. At least we would be able to take the role we like so much : the mediator. But our leaders lack common sense even if I don't think that Israel should obtain a normalization without giving back something in return. Concessions !$$ Concessions. A livable & strong Palestinian state sounds like a perfect one. Wink

Arabs and Islam are not always the same thing, I have been to Israel and I can tell you that many Palestinians are Christian, particularly in places like Bethlehem where there are two Christian Palestinian girls schools. And of course Lebanon also has a large Arab Christian population alongside the other divisions.

There are probably several other arab countries which have some small numbers of christian arabs too. It reminds us that religion is not a part of race and genetics, but something that came later and was used to supposedly approve or deny your trueness or right to your heritage and ethnicity if you did or didn't accept the expected views of those around you.

It's very natural I think. Jesus & Christianity appeared in those lands and the first Christian communities were from there. There are some villages in Syria where people are still using Aramaic, it's unique in the world.
The language of Jesus and the bible, an old semitic language : the sister of Hebrew and Arabic.

In addition to Christianity, a lot of people there are secular. Syria is secular, the Iraq of Saddam Hussein was secular, baathists (Arab socialists) were never fervent defenders of religion quite the contrary. Palestinians are secular (the majority), Lebanon is in someway a secular country...

The people who think that Arab = Muslim or Muslim = Arab are ignorant and stupid. There is lot of diversity in the Arab world and Arabs are a minority (population) in the Islamic community.

If you stop the siege of Gazza and the check points the Palestinian economy will fly (relying a lot on agriculture). The stomachs need food, people don't fear a satiated lion but they fear a hungry dog. Be cautious.

I was talking much more about the traitors who secretly defected to the enemy while theywere still living in Arabian territory occupying key positions. They were motivated by greed, money
& other reasons and provided your country with a lot of very sensitive secrets. Godamn f***g spies.

the ones who worked for us hated their dictators.if you are talking about the iraqi mig,the pilot was a moslem who secretly became christian and believed that the jewish state must be defended..that is why he defected...you say you are pro good relations with israel and yet you describe others who think so as traitors and you want to be believed?? trusted??get real.

I think the arabs who have become Israeli citizens have much greater freedom and benefits than those who oppose Israel.
