Maybe I am REALLY getting too old??
I don't know if it is an age thing, but here I have just discovered the new cool thing for young girls to do. I consider myself to be pretty up-to-date and fashionable, but since when does spitting on the sidewalk cool???? Bad enough when guys do it but I'm not shocked by that, but now when I see young girls (12-17) doing it. Well that is a SHOCKER!!!!!
What are your thoughts I am curious???

Havent seen that behaviour here, the swedish 12-year old girls usually just settle with dressing up like hookers and get themselves wasted on all kinds of drugs, robbing and beating the crap out of shoolmates and such.. you know.. the usual stuff..

I find it disgusting too, but I would not put so much attention on it. Obviously is a kind of Generation post-X rebel stance, and I don't think it has nohing to be with the gender. It's just youngster stuff. If you pay too much attention to it, you are in fact proving their point, and not only demonstrating that you are not too old, but maybe not old enough to understand that youngsters are supposed to do that kind of things to claim some attention.

I don't know if it's an age thing, but there's definitely a self-image/self-confidence issue if you're sooooo concerned about what young girls (12-17) are doing that you're watching their every move like that. I don't think there's any "trend" going on AT ALL regarding spitting on the sidewalk.
Did I hit a nerve? Pretty hard not to notice when I am stopped at traffic lights and I see it when they are coming home from school or at lunch time. I guess I am supposed to shut my eyes and guess when the light turns green!

It's not very popular among girls around me but I have seen such behaviour, too. And I also was shocked and disgusted with it. I can't tell if it's a somewhat stupid fashion 'look-how-cool-I-am' or what but it surely doesn't make a nice impression on me.
