How good are you at cutting your pets fur? Are you brave enough? I tried it to save a few bucks. 
It looked like it had just came off of chemo.

i think you should advise about cutting with breed owner or take one lesson of cutting and then you will be able to do it by yourself 
Plus there are ton of literature about fur cutting

My poor old guinea pig Percy needs regular hair cuts as he is long haired and gets very knotty and matted... he looks like he has been attacked with a hedge strimmer lol poor bugger

what breed?
I just do trimming to my dog, and prefer to go to dog`s hairdresser
She does it much more good and also my dog adores her
